Trauma

Experienced in dealing with trauma/anxiety/stress and depression.

Worked for over five years for a local charity, counselling individuals for domestic violence, sexual abuse, PTSD, trauma and depression.

Neurodiversity and ADHD

Working with neurodiverse individuals and those with ADHD my approach is personalised and focuses on meeting the specific needs and goals of each individual. Exploring practical and effective tools that can help provide stability or adapt existing tools or patterns.

The therapy sessions also provide a safe space to explore areas of struggle, whether it be in work, study, social situations or everyday tasks.

How can counselling help?

Getting a different perspective of the current stresses you might have or the lack of control in your life, once you are aware of them there are things that might help modify the behaviour and the responses to situations.

Perhaps feeling disconnected or overwhelmed; low or numb; just not being able function or feeling like you can't switch off.

When it comes to relationships with others and yourself, to try and re-frame what your automatic responses are to current situations and emotions.

Awareness of Stress and Anxiety and how this can affect anyone.

Are you finding it harder to do things, that you used to do without thinking? Perhaps finding it difficult to sleep, focus on work, study or at home and a loss of confidence. When this is affecting your everyday life over a prolonged period of time it may be useful to seek professional help.

Anger and Frustration

Emotions such as anger and frustration are fine in context to everyday annoyances, not so great if you find your temper flaring and saying or doing things you later regret. If you notice that this is a regular pattern or has gotten worse and you are having trouble sleeping or unable to relax or switch off.
